A luxurious getaway to Sentosa Island with an option to enjoy an artist’s workshop amidst beautiful scenery and architecture? No, this is not fiction.
The Amara Sanctuary Resort Sentosa Artist-in-Residence is a very unique concept conceived by the Amara Hotel Group. Artists are invited to stay and work at the hotel on Sentosa Island while they exhibit or conduct art appreciation courses or workshops at the hotel. This definitely brings new meaning to being artists-in-residence.
Artist Ms Ava Tan Lei had the privilege to be invited to be the first artist-in-residence. Given full creative freedom, she was inspired to produce many oil and acrylic on canvas paintings during her stay.
Most of the works themed, Naked is Beautiful, were already sold during the opening of her exhibition.
Do you see the tiger image?
Big Butt (yes, that's the name of the work!
The next time you take a trip down to Sentosa, visit the Amara Sanctuary Resort Sentosa and check out the art exhibitions. You might even get to meet the artists and see them at work. And if you are keen, you may even sign up for their workshops. Join their mailing list to be notified of their next art event.
At the Naked is Beautiful, exhibition, go find out what their titles are. Peer if you want to (read the exhibition title again). You might want to give the excuse that you’re there to check out the excellent convention facilities, the fancy restaurants or the luxurious villas. Just don’t say you learnt that from here. 😉
