Bruno Gallery Singapore, an international art gallery with a local presence, proudly presents THE COLORS OF SINGAPORE: A 3-Dimensional (3-D) Artwork Exhibition by world-renowned New-York pop artist Charles Fazzino. Held at the Bruno Gallery – Tanglin Place from May 27 to June 14, Fazzino’s solo exhibition will feature over 15 iconic artworks on major cities and places including Manhattan, Broadway, London and Paris. To celebrate the nation’s jubilee year, the exhibition will also showcase a specially-created artwork – Celebrating the Enchanted Island of Singapore. This piece captures all the major iconic symbols and landmarks that have made Singapore famous worldwide including the Merlion, Singapore Zoo and Marina Bay Sands.
Ms Aleksandra Lis, General Manager of Bruno Gallery Singapore, said, “We are very glad to be able to curate such an extensive range of artworks from Fazzino. His works are already very popular with art collectors worldwide and we are very excited to be able to welcome him to Singapore, and present the special Singapore piece to collectors here.”
Charles Fazzino, most famous for his 3-D renderings of New York and countless other cities, will be in Singapore for the very first time to unveil his decoupage on the city of Singapore as a tribute to the nation’s 50th anniversary.
As the creator of 3-D limited edition fine art, he is best known for his obsession with bright colors and wonderful detail, the frenetic energy that infuses his work and a unique hand assembled 3-D layering technique that brings his images to life. Fazzino has also created masterfully vibrant and detailed tributes to such popular icons as The New York Yankees, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Alfred Hitchcock and The Characters of Walt Disney. He has painted 14 Super Bowls for the National Football League, 11 All-Star Games for Major League Baseball, 5 Daytime Emmy Award Ceremonies, 2 FIFA World Cup Tournaments, the GRAMMY AWARDS, and was the official artist for the 2009 and 2010 President’s Council on Physical Fitness and The President’s Challenge.
Often referred to as a pop culture historian, Fazzino’s innovative style, technique, and sense of composition make him a master storyteller who touches his collectors and captures meaningful parts of their everyday lives. Over the years, Fazzino has gathered a loyal following throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. His artwork can be found in the private collections of Presidents Bill Clinton and George Bush, Rosie O’Donnell, Morgan Freeman, Paul McCartney, Senator Hillary Clinton, President Tarja Halonnen of Finland, Michael Jordan, Andy Roddick, Tony Stewart, Julia Roberts, Reggie Jackson, and many other internationally renowned figures and organizations. His works have also been exhibited by the Norman Rockwell Museum and The Arlington Museum of Art and Museum of Art/Fort Lauderdale. Fazzino also contributes his time and art to countless causes throughout the world and is the National Vice President of The Muscular Dystrophy Association. There have been six books published about Fazzino.
Currently working on the Singapore piece, Fazzino will be in Singapore this May to unveil a set of limited edition proofs of the Singapore image and one large original work based on the image. The uniquely crafted work is hand painted, cut, assembled, and embellished all on canvas. The limited editions are then printed as multiples on paper and hand-cut, assembled and embellished into the finished 3-D artwork. These art pieces come in both day and night versions.
