Good news for all museum goers in Singapore. Come 18th May 2013, it will be FREE ADMISSION for all Singaporeans and PRs to all national museums and heritage institutions. Woopheee!! Our staffs at Artitute are turning cartwheels with delight (although some look more like tumble weeds).
The following museusm and heritage institutions are:
National Museums
- Singapore Art Museum
- National Museum of Singapore
- Asian Civilisations Museum
- The Peranakan Museum
- Singapore Philatelic Museum
- National Art Gallery (slated to open in 2015)
Heritage Institutions
- Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall
- Malay Heritage Centre
Indian Heritage Centre (slated to open in 2015)
Interpretative Centre
- Reflections at Bukit Chandu
Free admissions will be provided to Citizens and Permanent Residents (PRs) all year round to the permanent galleries displaying national collection and selected special exhibitions at the National Museums and Heritage Institutions. It’s a way to encourage more citizens and PRs to visit our National Museums and Heritage Institutions.
For special exhibitions where there is an admission fee, NHB will continue to offer free admission for citizens and PRs who are students, teachers, senior citizens and NSFs as well as children of 6 years of age and under.
Free admissions will be officially launched on 18 May 2013, in conjunction with NHB’s Children’s Season 2013, as well as International Museum Day. For more information, please click here.
