Rice is the soul and life force of Asia. The sharing of food prepared with love reinforces ideas of kinship and affinity through the formation of collective memories. But now, “how we eat“ has detrimental consequences that could alter entire civilisations. The threat of food security looms imminent on us all.
The performance offers a spread of dance, live music, soundscape, film, and set design to contemplate on our changing eating habits in modern times.
FUTURE FEED invites you to hear the laments of empty rice bowls and feel the sodden dance steps at the shadow of the paddy fields.
