Introduced for the second year, the juried ICON de Martell Cordon Bleu Photographif Award continues to recognise qualities like the ‘originality of vision’ and ‘commitment to craft’ in Singaporean Photographers.
Mr Kwok Kian Chow, Director for the National Art Gallery interviewed by Artitute with The Story Behind.
Citing that photography is a great medium for expression and articulation, Mr Kwok Kian Chow, Director for the National Art Gallery shares, ‘It is not just about high art, it is not just about elitist art forms, you see this coming from Singapore, from the community, wanting to have the opinion to say, ‘We care’ about the identity of Singapore. And that is really the source for culture and for art.’
