Local indie game companies converge together this November 2016 with a variety of digitally painted artworks displayed at the Bishan Public Library. The Singapore Indie Games Art Exhibition 2016 marries art with video games, showcasing a wide range of art created in the local video game development scene. From background concept art to character designs and poster art, local indie game artists put forth their best artworks with along with free workshops for the general public and aspiring digital artists [workshops fully booked].

1. Introduction to Pixel Art [fully booked]
Date: 11 Nov 2016
Time: 7 – 8.30 pm
Synopsis: Pixel art, the building block of games of yesteryears such as Mario, Contra, Sonic, etc has seen a resurgence in recent years. It is quickly becoming a definitive art style commonly used in indie games, and the availability of web-based pixel art software has also contributed to the popularity of the game design style. Join Mr Raymond Teo, the creator behind Devil’s Dare, & Tobe’s Adventure Series as he introduces and demonstrates the basics of pixel art.
Participants are required to bring their own laptops.

2. Children Art Workshop – Create Your Own Pin Badge! [fully booked]

Time: 7 – 8.30 pm
Synopsis: Hey children, go badge crazy and learn how to create your own pin badges! Draw your favourite cartoon characters or simply choose one from the list of indie game characters displayed at the Singapore Indie Games Art Exhibition. Using colour pencils, some paper, and a badge stamping machine, local indie game designer Mr Ken Poh will guide participants in drawing and making colourful pin badges.
